On August 9, 2012 the San Mateo-Foster City School District Board of Trustees met in a special Board Study Session to receive information and make a decision regarding placing a general obligation construction bond on the November 2012 ballot. The recommendation from the SCORE (Superintendents Committee on Overcrowding RElief for schools located in Foster City) was only recently received and time is needed to engage the Foster City community in discussion about SCORE’s recommendation. Board members commented on bond funds for San Mateo schools, and that all district schools would be eligible for solar energy savings and student technology upgrades. Following additional discussion, the SM-FCSD Board of Trustees voted to postpone placement of a bond issue to expand, renovate, modernize and improve school facilities and fund student technology until the school district has time to reach out to the community.
