Visit
It's a good idea to begin by visiting our schools during the school visitation period held November through February 2011. Learn first-hand about the unique programs offered at each school, tour the campus and observe a typical classroom at each site. To schedule a visit, view the schools directory page or click on one of the links below to contact the school to reserve a specific tour date and time.
Understand
Are you interested in applying to any of the District-wide Magnet schools?
At our District-wide Magnet schools (College Park, Fiesta Gardens and North Shoreview) 100% of the enrollment is determined by a computerized lottery.
Are you interested in applying to our other Magnet schools?
Placement in our other Magnet schools (George Hall, Horrall, Parkside, San Mateo Park, Sunnybrae, Borel, and THE Bayside S.T.E.M. ACADEMY) is determined by a lottery and seat availability.
Have you considered school capacity at impacted schools?
School enrollment capacity is determined annually. Some impacted schools may not have the capacity to take transfers at any time during the school year. Please consider this before ranking one of these schools as your first choice. Transfers will only be granted if there is room in the school and after all neighborhood students are placed.
Apply
Make sure you read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), view the Important Dates & Deadlines and the list of required Registration Documents, before filling out the Magnet School/Intradistrict Transfer Application. All forms are available online, at any school in the district, or at the District Office.
