San Mateo-Foster City PTA Council

Information about the San Mateo-Foster City Council of PTAs! The council represents and oversees all of the PTA/PTSA units in the San Mateo-Foster City School District, and is a part of the California State PTA and National PTA (Parent-Teacher Association), the oldest and largest statewide nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to working on behalf of issues that affect children and families. PTA speaks on behalf of nearly six million members nationwide, almost one million of which come from California.

The San Mateo-Foster City Council is the largest council in 17th District PTA, which represents PTAs in San Mateo County. We represent about 5,000 of the nearly 20,000 PTA members in San Mateo County, with active PTA units in all twenty elementary and middle schools in the San Mateo-Foster City School District.

PTA Council officers are available for advice and help. Each school has a Council PTA officer liasion, but please feel free to call or e-mail me with your questions or concerns. Council collects dues from every unit to run our programs, which are outlined in your bylaws.

Our website contains resources for your unit, as well as additional information about upcoming council events.

I look forward to working with all of you. Please don't hesitate to call or e-mail if I can be of assistance.

Christine Semenza,
President, San Mateo-Foster City PTA Council
