Our North Shoreview Montessori Preschool provides a high quality preschool program designed to help each child reach full potential in all areas of life. Activities promote the development of social skills, emotional growth, physical coordination, as well as cognitive skills. The holistic curriculum allows the child to experience the joy of learning while acquiring knowledge and skills.
In order for self-directed learning to be effective, we carefully prepare our preschool environment. The whole learning environment includes the room, materials and a social climate that is supportive of the learner. The multi-sensory and sequential Montessori materials provide for independent and self-correcting learning. These beautiful materials facilitate the learning of skills and lead to learning of abstract ideas.
The specially trained and caring Montessori preschool teachers serve as facilitators of learning. The teacher is the designer of the environment, resource person, role model, demonstrator and observer of each child’s growth and development. Curriculum and instruction are individualized and are based on the interests, needs and developmental level of each child.
